Transportation
This service provides transportation to and from the recipient’s home and community-based waiver services, enabling the recipient to receive the supports and services identified in both the support plan and approved cost plan, when such services cannot be accessed through natural (i.e., unpaid supports).
Transportation providers can be community transportation coordinators (CTC) for the transportation disadvantaged; limited transportation providers; public transit authorities that run the community’s fixed-route, fixed-schedule public bus system; group homes and other residential facilities in which the recipients being transported reside; adult day training, supported employment group, and prevocational programs to which the recipients are being transported; and other public, private for-profit, and private not-for-profit transportation entities.
Transportation to waiver services for eligible recipients must be:
Taxis
Private vehicles
Private non-profit agencies
Private for-profit agencies
Multi-load passenger vans
Mass transit and public transportation systems
Providers must:
Be 18 years or older
Comply with the Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged Rule 41-2.006 (2) and (4), F.A.C., Insurance, Safety Requirements and Standards
